Overview: The Community Life Team is focused on building healthy relationships between members of our congregation and relationships in our greater community as well as inviting in new members. We put Jesus’ message to “love one another” into action.

Things we manage or decide:

  1. Organizing after service coffee hours and special receptions, such as after the Easter Vigil.
  2. Assisting with coordination and support of Progressive Dinners.
  3. Work with other teams to coordinate a fall Gala or other fundraising efforts to ensure a successful event.     
  4. Make decisions on whether or not established gatherings have “run their course”.
  5. Develop new gatherings to give new opportunities for enjoying fellowship together.
  6. Visitor/New member inquiries (Connection Card, Guest Book, etc.)
  7. Newcomer Orientation (coordination)
  8. Connecting new members to Nativities ministries and teams
  9. Work with Communications to create membership marketing materials. 
  10. Work with the church records team to help maintain the church membership database.
  11. Determine the yearly budgetary needs of the team for recommendation to the Finance Team.

  1. Coffee hours
  2. Progressive Dinner
  3. Funeral Receptions
  4. Training volunteers
  5. Develop a welcoming and inviting culture
  6. Engaging/connecting new members with the Nativity family
  7. Utilizing and understanding the trends with membership
  8. Explore Invite.Welcome.Connect as a new ministry program at Nativity and apply principles as appropriate
  9. Approve expenditures for team budgetary line items

How can you help, what skills do you need?

  1. Anyone with an interest in building and maintaining  a strong membership. Those with a history in marketing and sales would be great people to help as well.
  2. People comfortable calling newcomers to ask and/or answer questions.
  3. Anyone with organizational skills and/or creative talents to share.
  4. A desire to socialize and have fun, while serving others.

What is the time commitment?

  1. The time commitment will vary depending on the upcoming event. 
  2. You will not be required to be involved in every event. With the first planning meeting the responsibility for certain events will be divided.
  3. There will be a planning and reporting meeting once a month.
