Help us package 3 million meal packets! Seem impossible? The Community Outreach Volunteer Committee (COVC) is again coordinating Nativity’s participation in the South Metro Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) 3 Million Meal Packing Event. February 1-6, 2016.
This event is a partnership between FMSC and a loose coalition of south metro churches. The coalition of south metro churches, in partnership with FMSC, aims to package 3 million meal packets over a single week. Location for the event is the former Rainbow Foods Building located on 15125 Cedar Ave, Apple Valley, MN 55124.
The meals packed are used by FMSC for feeding programs throughout the world. The 3 million meal packet gives FMSC the ability to respond to emergencies such as natural disasters and famine to bridge food supplies until long term sustainable food sources can be found. COVC members will be signing up volunteers and fundraising to off-set the cost of the meal supplies (goal is $2000) after Sunday services.
Volunteers as young as 8 years of age, if accompanied by a parent, can participate. Nativity has reserved two time slots for our members and friends to volunteer together: Tuesday, February 2nd from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, February 6th from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
If you think you would be interested in participating, contact Colin Brownlow.
