Funerals and Memorial Services at Nativity

The death of a loved one can be an especially trying time in one’s life.  Nativity seeks to support individuals and families through all of life’s transitions, including the death of a loved one.

I am the Resurrection and I am Life, says the Lord.
Whoever has faith in me shall have life,
even though he dies.
And everyone who has life,
and has committed himself to me in faith,
shall not die for ever.  (Book of Common Prayer, page 491)

These words express our most deeply held belief as Christians, that in Christ death has been conquered, and the promise of eternal life is affirmed.

Whether you desire to hold a funeral for your loved one or a memorial service, Nativity is privileged to walk with you.  This is a time to gather friends and family, to remember our loved one, to lift up our loved one and express gratitude for their life.

Services are provided for church members, former church members and for anyone seeking a Christian celebration of life in Christ.

Contact our church office by calling 952-435-8687 or emailing nativity@natitivitymn.org.  The service planning is done and a date set with one of our clergy.  A hospitality ministry team is available to assist in planning a reception following the funeral or memorial service.  Fees regarding musicians, clergy and receptions will be discussed at the time of planning and due the day of the service.

Advanced Planning

Nativity encourages families to engage in advance planning for arrangements at the time of death.  Writing down your wishes for your funeral or memorial service can be a tremendous gift to a grieving family.  Most families want to honor what their loved one “would have wanted” and offering a map to your wishes supports your family and loved ones in a difficult time.

Planning booklets are available in the parish office and can be kept on file at the church office upon completion.
