Outdoor Service Guidelines

Updated 9/24/2020

Together, due to the pandemic, we are taking steps to make attending worship service as safe as possible.

The online live stream of our 10:15 am Sunday worship service will continue, as those who are unable to attend can still receive a meaningful experience from home.

We will continue to offer daily Compline at 9:00 pm Sunday through Saturday, except evening prayer on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm.

On October 4th, 2020, we will offer an in-person outdoor Sunday morning prayer service at 10:15am with a limit of 25 attendees.  Use the sign up button at the bottom of this page in order to attend.  You must sign up in advance to attend a service. Please read the procedures before attending so you are prepared for the requirements to attend an in-person outdoor service at Nativity.

WEATHER:

We reserve the right to cancel the outdoor service due to weather conditions. We will make the call by Saturday at 8pm. A message will be posted at the top of the website and on our Facebook page, if cancelled.

PRE-SERVICE:

  • We ask that you not attend if you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 (click here for a list of symptoms), or if you or a member of your household has been confirmed or suspected to have COVID-19.

  • Reflecting current CDC guidance, we strongly encourage those who are over the age of 65 or who are especially vulnerable to not attend.

  • During this time, as we limit Service capacity please use the sign up button at the bottom of this page to sign up.

  • We require a face covering or mask for all attendees 2 years of age and older.

  • Please bring a chair, as they will not be provided. This is to reduce the amount of cleaning and high touch areas.

  • We ask that you use your own restroom facility before coming to Service and bring your own hand sanitizer.

  • Please arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before the beginning of Service.

  • Enter the parking lot through the farthest south entrance as you and your family/friends will be temperature checked before getting out of our car. Please put on your mask before getting your temperature checked. (You may be asked to leave, if someone in your vehicle registers as having a higher than normal temperature.)

  • After getting your temperature checked, you will be directed to park, and ushered to the outdoor worship space.

  • Ushers will direct you to your seating location. We will seat from front to back and you will be dismissed from back to front.

 DURING SERVICE:

  • There will not be any congregational singing at in-person liturgies.

  • The collection baskets will be in the center of the seating area, you may drop in your envelope/offering as you enter or leave. If it is easier you may donate online.

  • Worship Aids will not be printed, so if you would prefer to follow along you print your own and bring it or use your smart device, and view it from the link provided in the Nativity eNotes on Saturday morning.

 COMMUNION:

  • At this time communion will not be offered.

POST SERVICE:

  • Please do not congregate after the service. We encourage you to follow all physical distancing guidelines, as you depart.

By signing up to attend service means you agree to the above guidelines, you also agree that the risks of attending an in-person gathering is your decision, and by no means is Nativity Episcopal Church liable.
