There is a sea of smiling faces.
Some are familiar, others you know you haven’t met before.
It feels like a big family reunion. Good music plays in the background and there are opportunities for both food and to explore the vendors.
Is it the “Great Minnesota Get Together”?
Close. It’s the Great ECMN Get Together – ECMN Convention.
This weekend, September 15th and 16th, Episcopalians from all over the great state of Minnesota will be gathering in Duluth for our 160th Convention. Our time will be filled with worship, music, opportunities to do the governance work of the Church, hear and share the stories of good missional work across ECMN and lots of time for fellowship and networking. We’ll also be diving into learning sharing on our 2017-18 programmatic theme of Engaging God’s Mission of the Beloved Community.
We are blessed this year to have Heidi Kim, the Staff Officer for Racial Reconciliation with The Episcopal Church. Heidi will be serving as our preacher and help facilitate us conversations and learning around the Beloved Community. We are also blessed to have three phenomenal musicians, Fran McKendree, River, G. And Chad Smith who will be leading us in music throughout convention.
Everyone across ECMN is invited and encouraged to attend, whether or not you’re an elected delegate. Either way, your prayers for our time together would be greatly appreciated.
