Living Easter Every Day

Maybe it’s the warmth of gathering with friends and family. Maybe it’s a favorite hymn that continues to play in your head. Maybe you’re still enjoying the leftovers of a wonderful feast. My sincerest hope is that you are feeling a deep sense of God’s love for you manifested in our Easter acclimation: Alleluia, Christ is risen! The Lord is risen indeed.

I feel your healing touch deep in my soul. I sense the power of Easter in your love for me.

It is the power of your love that frees me to rely on your gentle care.

I am filled with joy at the many gifts you give me. Let me now feel free to celebrate your love and share it with others.

My other hope is that the wondrous love we experienced on Easter morning will be more than a one time experience. I hope that we let the power of Easter truly transform our lives, such that we begin to truly follow the Way of Love.

The Episcopal Church has put together some inspiring materials to help us individually and collectively walk the Way of Love. They can be found here.

Friends, we are Easter people.

As author L. R. Knost reminds us, “Do not be dismayed by the brokenness of the world. All things break. And all things can be mended. Not with time, as they say, but with intention. So go. Love intentionally, extravagantly, unconditionally. The broken world waits in darkness for the light that is you.” This is the Way of Love . . . this is how we will become the Beloved Community.

Please intentionally, extravagantly, unconditionally celebrate AND share this Easter love!
